Portraits by Seoul-based artist Kim Byungkwan
"The habitual vision or visual habit makes us go by the routine ways. It stops us from having adventure and checking out the wonders out there. My work is trying to destroy, tear up, and reconstruct this habitual vision so that our vision can be expended to other images.” (text source)
EwwwwwwwWWWWWWW WWW GROSS NECKBEARD raised his hand and said “well, in TODAY’S age of information and IN-TER-NET, its just people’s WILLFUL ignorance of the world that causes problems!!!!11!”
I cannot deal with the amount of sputtering privilege that gross white boy was emitting
As if all or even most people in america are not manipulated daily to deceive them into the conformist compliance of capitalist idealism
Please, you sack of human meat, ignorance in america is rooted to money’s dominance of education, media, and everything you see, hear, eat, drink, use and learn about. It is not willful, it is enforced, it is packaged and sold, it is distributed as “job growth” or “economic growth” or “big government” and by taking human rights and turning them into copyrights.
Globalization in no way means freedom of information, nor does access to information mean freedom from ignorance.
Globalization is imperialistic capitalism, it is the colonization of peoples who have no voice, no representation, and it is the murder of their freedom and the burglary of their resources.
…. next class.
*white dude voice* Let’s take a look at the dictionary definition, shall we?
manslation: lets look at the definitions of words that other, older, white men have decided on that do not define them in any way and go with that because that is definitely accurate in this day and age and also totally not biased
im so happy to see all the beautiful black women on my campus with their natural hair and great style and i cannot fathom dumb motherfuckers who say black women are not attractive or that they “arent their type” i really feel like the root problem, besides obvious racism, is the lack of beautiful darker skinned natural ladies having any kind of positive media coverage.
most people are not exposed to the natural beauty of dark skinned black women, and in fact i feel like with all the promotion of literally all other races and shades over black women, their beauty is near limited to background invisibility in america and in fact the world at large
so im real happy to see so many beautiful black women on my campus
